DISCOVERY 702 WALK THE TALK 2013

When it comes to the health and fitness of our dogs, South African pet owners really do adopt a responsible philosophy. According to dog and cat health nutrition manufacturers, Royal Canin, this was certainly evident at the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk held on a warm winter’s morning in the leafy suburbs just north of Johannesburg on Sunday 28 July 2013.

Royal Canin marketing manager, Tarryn Day, was impressed, “The most pleasing for us was the incredible health of each dog. Despite the very warm weather our veterinarians and vet nurses on duty reported no major incidents, just happy and eager dogs enjoying the many baths and water bowls along the routes. The overall condition of the dogs is testament to the responsible pet ownership philosophy that South Africans are adopting.”

Just on 2000 dogs were expected along the leisurely 2km and 5km walks with Royal Canin providing fresh water at 5 doggie water points along the routes as well as some goodies for dog and owner at their stand on the main field at the finish line.

Day says, “We are exceptionally proud to be a part of such a magnificent event and to see such a committed and loyal group of dog owners. The love that a dog and owner shares lifts the spirits of everyone taking part in the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk. It is also wonderful to see the event growing every year and more and more dogs accompanying their owners.”
