DOG TAILS WAGGED AT THE GARDENER LIVE DOG WALK

The Pretoria National Botanical Gardens set the perfect scene for the Royal Canin The Gardener Live dog walk on Sunday 17 March 2013, proceeds of which were donated to animal welfare. Dogs are not usually allowed into the gardens so hundreds took the opportunity and dragged their owners along for a brisk morning walk. The walk was part of a weekend of activities for gardeners at The Gardener Live Show.

The walk offered dogs and owners a unique chance to take in the tranquil views of the gardens along a 4km course. Royal Canin staff manned water points at the startand finish line and along the course. Tanya Visser, editor of The Gardener Magazine, encouraged all pet owners to enjoy the day before sending them off along the winding pathways through the magnificent gardens.

Tarryn Day, Royal Canin’s Marketing Manager, says, “We were thrilled to see such a turnout. Even more pleasing was the incredible health of all the dogs…and their owners of course. Not only did the dogs have a wonderful time but were also able to eagerly take their owners to the impressive Royal Canin stand where a number of health nutrition specials and display of products were on offer as well as the chance to engage with our knowledgeable nutrition advisors The success of the dog walk is testament to the responsible pet ownership philosophy of Royal Canin and of South African pet owners. By sponsoring dog walks like these, we aim to educate pet owners on the value of fitness in both pet and owner and it really is a fun day out for everyone too.”
