Initially use for up to 6 months to reduce the formation of urate stones, for up to 1 year to reduce the formation of cystine stones and for life in cases of irreversible disturbance of uric acid metabolism. It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use or before extending the period of use.

Indications

  • Management of recurrent metabolic uroliths (urate, xanthine or cystine).
  • Maintenance diet (particularly indicated in breeds with a high risk of metabolic uroliths, e.g. Dalmatians).
  • Supportive diet for dogs with leishmaniasis undergoing treatment with xanthine oxidase inhibitors (e.g. allopurinol).
