| If your dog is small to medium in size, it must be older than 1 years old & younger than 10 years old. If your dog is large to giant in size, it must be older than 1.5 years old & younger than 7 years old. Your dog must be medically fit to walk. Your dog must be social with other dogs and people. Dogs that display aggressive behaviour towards other dogs, people, food or toys should not participate in the walk or the day's activities. Any dog displaying signs of aggression will be removed from the event. To discourage aggressive behaviour, we recommend that dog owners only bring dogs that are spayed or neutered. Your dog must be lead trained. Leads should be no longer than 2 meters and for safety reasons, retracting leads are not permitted. Choke collars are discouraged. Dogs must be under the direct control of their owners at all times. Your dog must be able to handle the stress of large crowds and strange noises. Breeds predisposed to heat exhaustion (such as Bulldogs, Boxers, Pugs, Boerboels, Pekingese) and unfit/overweight dogs are not encouraged to walk. Your dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations. The owner is responsible to keep his dogs well hydrated at all times. A maximum of 3 dogs per person is allowed. Injured and/or ill dogs should not attend the event. The veterinarians on duty reserve the right to remove any dog that is not well/struggling from the walk. |
