Cat Fanciers' Association - CFA

The Cat Fanciers' Association is a non-profit association founded in 1906 in the United States. It is the world’s oldest registry of pedigreed cats. The first show was held on the same year in Buffalo and Detroit and the first national show in 1907 at the Madison Square Garden.Today, the CFA groups together 500 clubs spread over all continents.

Federation International Feline - Fife

The Federation International Feline, a non-profit association, was founded in 1949 by three clubs representing Belgium, France and Italy.The first show was held in Paris on the same year. Registered in Luxemburg, the federation now groups together41 countries, publishes 110,000 pedigrees, runs 3,000 cattery names, and every year over 650 shows are organized under its name.

Governing Council of the Cat Fancy -GCCF

The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy is a democratic organisation founded in 1910 in Great Britain with a view to keeping registries of pedigreed cats, granting licenses to clubs wanting to organize shows and seeing to the well-being of cats in general. Today, the GCCF represents 151 affiliated clubs and registers 32,000 pedigrees a year.

The Liver Official des Origins Felines- LOOF

In France,the LOOF, founded in 1996, is the sole registry delivering cat pedigrees. Underits aegis, shows are organized and breed standards are decreed. A little lessthan 19,000 pedigrees were registered in 2008. The LOOF also ensures promotion of pedigreed cats.

The International Cat Association -TICA

The International Cat Association (Inc.) was founded in 1979 in the United States.This association present throughout the world keeps a registry based on genetic criteria and not just based on phenotypes. It also keeps the world’s largest registry of house cats, who can participate in its shows.

The World Cat Federation - WCF

The World Cat Federation was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1988.Its current headquarters are in Germany.Today, the WCF groups together more than 540 members throughout the world.
